  • Test an area of skin with a small amount of AproDerm® Barrier Cream and leave for 48 hours. If there is no reaction or irritation, apply all over your skin
  • Consult your doctor or pharmacist if the skin is bleeding, broken or badly cracked
  • Do not apply to infected areas of skin
  • Do not use if the tamper-proof seal is damaged or missing

For Preventing and Healing Nappy Rash:

Nappy rash is a skin irritation. It occurs when your precious little one’s delicate skin is exposed to prolonged wetness and contact with wee and poo in their nappy. It’s made worse by the nappy rubbing against the sensitive skin. Prevention is always better than cure or treatment so follow these three simple steps to care and protect your baby’s delicate skin from the causes of nappy rash:

  • Gently clean your baby’s nappy area from front to back using either cotton balls dampened with water or wipes that are fragrance-free and soap-free
  • Make sure to clean all the creases too

  • Put an appropriate clean nappy (make sure it’s the correct size as we don’t want it rubbing or leaking!) under your baby’s bottom and gently pat the area dry with a clean cloth, ensuring that you don’t rub

  • Softly apply a thin layer of AproDerm® Barrier Cream to reduce the risk of nappy rash or to help heal, if nappy rash is already present. A penny-sized amount will do just fine (this covers an area of 100cm2 – roughly the size of a square coaster). If you apply too much the area will become greasy
  • Stroke the cream gently onto the skin, ensuring that it gets into the creases. Avoid rubbing the area
  • AproDerm® Barrier cream is so gentle it can be applied to baby’s bottom after every nappy change, if required, up to 10 times a day. It is especially important to apply at nighttime, as this is when your baby is in their nappy the longest without a change

Protection from the Effects of Incontinence:

Incontinence is common and there are many different types. Prolonged exposure to urine and or faeces can irritate the skin in vulnerable areas. If this is not taken care of properly the damage can develop into incontinence-associated dermatitis, a form of contact dermatitis where the skin becomes inflamed and can start to erode. Follow these three simple steps to protect your skin from the irritant effects associated with incontinence as well as protecting skin suffering from incontinence-associated dermatitis:

  • Gently cleanse the skin with AproDerm® Colloidal Oat Cream and water to lift stools and urine from the skin
  • Pat the area dry with a disposable paper towel or woven cloth

  • Apply a small amount of AproDerm® Barrier Cream covering the affected area, completely. A penny-sized amount will cover approximately 100cm2 of skin – about the size of a square coaster
  • Because AproDerm® Barrier Cream is long-lasting it can be applied twice a day or for frequent incontinence episodes, re-apply every third or fourth time
  • Incontinence pads can be used directly over areas protected by AproDerm® Barrier Cream without fear of blocking the pad. Make sure that you apply the cream to your skin and not directly onto the pad

  • AproDerm® Barrier Cream moisturises and conditions the skin. However, sometimes, the skin may benefit from additional moisturisation to help maintain or restore the skin barrier. Using any of the emollients from the AproDerm® Range will help to achieve this
